Mentoring & Completion Programs

Mentoring & Completion Programs

Sub:Culture Fellows Program

Sub:Culture Fellows Program targets students who have the drive to graduate from college, but are at risk of falling short because of limited financial resources or unreliable support networks.

The Sub:Culture Fellows Program provides college scholarships, mentorship, mental health supports, and a diverse, credible, and robust support network to first and second year college students.
Each semester, we will award $1,500 scholarships, living expenses stipend, and $750 textbook awards to 5-15 fellows for two years. As long as our fellows remain enrolled in and in good standing (at least a 2.5 G.P.A.) at a community college or four-year college or university, attend the required mentor check-ins, cohort gatherings, and complete their annual report–some awards are renewable for two more years.

Trips will be to different locations with an emphasis on that area. A Black-led trip, leaders are trained in facilitating space to help students unpack the effects of cultural immersion on their personal identity. opportunities to connect with local families, food, and customs, we believe students will come home to themselves and come back to make positive, restorative changes on their campuses and in society.
